Welcome back to the 2007-2008 school year! As the new librarian, I'm looking forward to an exciting year at Esperanza Elementary. The purpose of this web page is to help Esperanza students, teachers, and parents learn more about their school media center.

This year students will not only come to our library for instruction, but also throughout the school day to do research, checkout materials, and use computers.

Our goal in the library is to help students live together in a global learning community. In the process they will learn:

to love literature, and let it make us laugh, cry, and think
to be curious and think critically
to access, use, and evaluate information
to respect each other, our library, its contents, and different points of view
to work hard and enjoy the satisfaction that hard work brings
to love learning, and become life-long learners
